Marzocchi Aluminium Gear Motor
Compact. Bidirectional. Built to take a beating.
The Marzocchi ALM series delivers high hydraulic power from a simple, rugged external gear design — fewer moving parts, lower running costs, and the kind of reliability NZ operators need when downtime isn't an option. In stock at FPD.
Why specify an ALM gear motor?
- Versatile drive — runs clockwise, counter-clockwise, or fully reversible (R) to suit your circuit
- Strong starting torque — develops torque from standstill to get loads moving
- Tough construction — high-resistance aluminium alloy body, case-hardened and ground steel gears, DU-bushed bearings
- Quiet and efficient — pressure-compensated bushings cut internal leakage and noise
- Low weight-to-power ratio — compact footprint for mobile and industrial mounting
The range at a glance
Three groups cover displacements from 2.8 to 87 cm³/rev:
- ALM1 — light-to-medium duty, 2.8–11.0 cm³/rev, up to 250 bar continuous
- ALM2 — medium duty, 4.5–28.2 cm³/rev, up to 250 bar continuous
- ALM3 — heavy duty, 22–87 cm³/rev, up to 230 bar continuous
- Peak pressure (PP): up to 270 bar (smaller displacements)
- Fluid temperature: -10°C to +80°C standard (high/low-temp seal options available)
- Recommended viscosity: 10–100 cSt
- Drain: external, via threaded port on the cover
Configuration options
Specify the build to suit your application:
- Flanges — European, SAE, German square (BK1/2/4/7)
- Shafts — tapered, cylindrical, splined
- Ports — flanged, BSP (G), NPT (Rc), SAE UNF
- Seals — standard NBR or high/low-temperature versions (V, VV, ST, H)
Typical applications
ALM gear motors suit a wide range of mobile and industrial drives — road sweepers, compact rollers, ride-on mowers, machine tools, and auxiliary functions on agricultural and construction equipment.
