Danfoss OMS Series Disc Valve Motor
When your machine needs strong, controllable torque from a small package — augers, conveyors, winches, drives and wheel applications — the Danfoss OMS Series delivers. These fixed-displacement orbital motors run smoothly across their full speed range, start under load, and hold up to the demanding conditions of New Zealand agriculture, construction, forestry and materials handling.
FPD stocks the OMS Series locally, with the technical backup to help you specify the right size, shaft and flange the first time.
Why the OMS Series
The OMS uses a Geroler gear set paired with a disc distributor valve, driven synchronously through a cardan shaft so each working chamber fills and empties precisely. The result is high starting torque, constant operating torque over a wide speed range, and high efficiency from a robust, compact housing.
Key strengths for trade applications:
- High torque, low speed — strong pulling power without a gearbox
- High starting torque — gets loads moving reliably
- High radial and axial bearing capacity — handles real-world side loads on driven wheels and rollers
- High return pressure without a drain line — simpler plumbing in many installations (high-pressure shaft seal option)
- Smooth, consistent running across the speed range
- Open or closed-loop hydraulic systems, with a wide range of hydraulic fluids
Configure it to fit
The OMS is highly adaptable, which makes it a practical drop-in across a wide range of machines:
- Variants: OMS (standard), OMSW (wheel motor), OMSS (short)
- Mounting flanges: standard, A-2, magneto, SAE B, wheel
- Shafts: cylindrical 32 mm / 1.25 in, splined (1 in / 1.25 in / 0.875 in), tapered (35 mm / 1.25 in), and P.t.o.
- Ports: G 1/2 (European) or 7/8-14 UNF (US)
- Options: speed sensor, tacho connection, high-pressure shaft seal, Viton shaft seal, drum brake, ultra-short body, painted finish
All standard OMS configurations include a check valve.
Local stock, expert specification, fast supply
Choosing the right orbital motor is about matching displacement, shaft, flange and seal to your application — not just grabbing a part number. Our team knows the OMS range and the NZ conditions it works in, and we'll help you get the specification right. With local stock and reliable supply, we keep your machines turning.
